CSK vs SRH: Match Summary

The Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a great start in their chase of a mediocre target of 155. The opening pair of captain Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma added 89 for the first in 12 overs. Though the start was not as fast, they covered up quickly and were on the required run rate trail by the time Williamson got out on 32 off 40 balls.

Abhishek on the other end was not perturbed by the dismissal one bit and continued with his crunching shots which were a treat to the eyes. He added 66 off just 30 balls with Tripathi before being removed by DJ Bravo when only 10 runs were required for victory. Tripathi and Nicholas Pooran completed the formalities as the target was chased down with 14 balls to spare and eight wickets in hand.

Earlier in the day, after being asked to bat first, Chennai Super Kings didn’t have a good start and lost both its openers Robin Uthappa and Ruturaj Giakwad with only 36 runs on the board in the first 31 balls.

Moeen Ali and Amabati Rayudu paired up for a 62 runs stand in 50 balls. But just when it was required for them to tee off, they perished in pair and took Shivam Dube along, leaving two new batters in MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jaje at the crease. Dhoni couldn’t play more dots as he was caught at deep fine leg early and in the last two overs, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo hit some lofty shots to the team to 154/7 in 20 overs.

Abhishek Sharma, who was almost dangling on an axe for not being able to perform in the first two games, played a brilliant inning to not just shut his critics, but also give himself some confidence that the management was right in backing him. The Punjab born left-hander hit 75 of just 50 balls, a knock that included five fours and three sixes to get his team over the line. He was rightly adjudged as the Player of the Match.

Abhishek Sharma, after playing a gem of a knock here has been removed finally as he goes for a big shot and manages to get it only as far as extra cover where he is caught and that would be the end of him at 75 off just 50 balls as Bravo gets yet another wicket

Chennai vs Hyderabad Live Score: Bizzarre no-ball from Jordan

After getting whacked for a six off his first ball, Chris Jordan here has knocked the bails at his own end in his run-up and gone for four towards fine leg off that every delivery, meaning that it would be a no-ball and at the same time, the next ball would be a free hit as well

And this over is getting worse with each passing ball as so far, Jordan has given away 18 runs off the first five balls and with a ball to be bowled and on the last ball he has given a single to make it a 19 run over and now just 11 required off the last three overs

CSK vs SRH: Changes in the Playing 11

As was expected Maheesh Theekshanba has been called in by the Chennai Super Kings, but that has been done in place of Dwaine Pretorius and not Dwayne Bravo which we were assuming it to be. But that is the only change in the Playing 11 and Rajvardhan Hangargekar is still warming the bench.

As for the Sunrisers, they have brought in two changes and played Shashank Singh in place of Abdul Samad and most importantly, Marco Jansen in place of Romario Shepherd. But Umran Malik and Abhishek Sharma, the two other players, which could have been changed, still remain in the Playing 11 and the management would hope that they deliver on the faith put into them.
