In today’s afternoon match of the Indian Premier league 2020 (IPL 2020), Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With four defeats on the trot, DC has faltered in the far end of IPL 2020 after dominating for much of it. With this defeat, Delhi will have to win its last league match against RCB with a big margin to make it to the playoffs
While MI is on top of the table with 16 points, DC (14 points) is at the third place, thanks to its net run-rate which is lower than that of second-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai had to chase 111 runs in 20 overs and openers Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan did not face much obstacle from Delhi bowlers and went for the rampage right from the start.
Nortje got the sole wicket of Quinton de Kock, rest, it was a one-sided affair with Ishan Kishan (72 off 47) slamming the ball at will.

DC openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw both fell to Trent Boult in the first three overs after which captain Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant held on until the 11th over. Iyer was eventually was stumped off Rahul Chahar in the 11th over after which Bumrah ran through the DC batting order.
Pant, Marcus Stoinis and Harshal Patel all fell to him and DC were left 87/7 wickets at the end of the 16th over. Kagiso Rabada led the effort from the lower middle order and took them past the 100-run mark.
