Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022, Day 5 Highlights

Brazil vs Serbia

Serbia would call themselves lucky to have gotten by with just two goals against their name as this Brazil team was on fire thanks to some awesome striking by the likes of Ricahrlison, Vinicius Junior, Casemiro and Rodrygo. Ricahrlison was the one who eventually got the two goals with the second one being one of the best seen so far in this World Cup, a bicycle kick, taken not on the volley, but created by the striker himself.

The dominance of Brazil was so evident that they had 59% possession in the entire game with 22 shots on goal and eight shots on target compared to Serbia’s 41% possession, five shots on goal and none of them being on target.

Portugal vs Ghana

It was one of the most thrilling encounters that this World Cup has seen as Portugal and Ghana went berserk and scored five goals in the second half after a dead first half which couldn’t see even a single goal.

In the last minute, Ghana still had an opportunity to score and level things up, but unfortunately, the conversion could not take place.

Uruguay vs South Korea

The battle between the Asian heavyweights Korea who had Son Ming with them and South American underdogs Uruguay, who had Cavani and Suarez ends in a goalless draw. In the second half, the Uruguayan team tried its best as it got more possession, more shots on goal and even a rocket from Valverde's foot but were not able to break the deadlock.

On the other hand, the Koreans, who attacked in the first half, went mellow and defensive in the second, resulting in a decline in their possession and in the entire game they couldn't get a shot on target. However, it is the bottom line that matters and it is Korea 0-0 Uruguay. The third game of the night is on the way

Switzerland vs Cameroon

A single goal made all the difference in this game. The goal in the 48th minute came courtesy of Breel Embolo, a Cameroon-born Swiss striker. There was no celebration as expected from Embolo as he remained the game-changer for the team from the Alps.
