Heinrich Klaasen, who was brought into the team for this match, repaid the faith of the selectors as he hit a match-winning 81 off just 44 balls to guide South Africa to the chase of 149. With this win, the Proteas now take a 2-0 lead in the series. 

The chase did not start well for the Proteas actually as they lost three wickets with only 29 runs on the board. But skipper Temba Bavum and Klaasen added 64 for the fourth wicket to bring their team in close distance to the target of 149. After that, David Miller combined with Klaasen for a 51-run stand and the two almost got the men in ‘green and yellow’ home before Klaasen thereafter, Wayne Parnell got out for no reason at all. 

Finally, Miller made sure that no more wickets fell and South Africa chased down the total with 10 balls to spare. 

Earlier in the evening, after being asked to bat first, India too could not get going and the inning that ebbed and flowed regularly could reach 148-6 only courtesy of a 21-ball 30 from Dinesh Karthik.
