Thanks to their all-round showing with both bat and ball, India outclassed the South Africans by 48 runs to stay alive in the five-match series. The Proteas still lead the series 2-1  

The match started well for the Indian team as the opening pair of Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 97 for the first wicket. Though nobody after the two got going, the men in blue still managed to get the score to 179-5 thanks to Hardik Pandya’s 31* off 21 balls. 

With the ball, the Indian team was at its best as both the pacers and the spinners performed in tandem and did not let even a single South African batter settle down as they kept picking wickets at regular intervals. In the end, the entire Proteas team bundled out for 131 and lost the game by 48 runs. 

While Harshal Patel picked four wickets, Yuzvendra Chahal finished with figures of 3-20 in his four overs.
