IND vs SL 2nd T20 Highlights: Sri Lanka win by 4 wickets, level series 1-1

In a low scoring match, India managed to put 132 runs, Sri Lanka looked in trouble but managed to clinch a victory

Sri Lanka defeated India by four wickets in the second Twenty20 to level the three-match series 1-1, here on Wednesday.

Invited to bat, a depleted India scored 132 for five on a sluggish pitch but defended the total against the hosts, who overhailed the target with two balls to spare.

Skipper Shikhar Dhawan top-scored for the Indians with his 40-run knock while Sri Lankan off-spinner Akila Dananjaya (2/29) took two of the four wickets that fell.

Dhanajaya de Silva made unbeaten 40 while Minod Bhanuka scored 36 in Sri Lanka's reply. Indian leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets.

The final match of the series will be played on Thursday.

A below-strength India, who were forced to make seven changes in the playing XI after nine players were ruled out due to Covid-related issues, could muster 132 for five wickets in the allotted 20 overs of the second T20 International against Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Due to nine players in isolation, India were forced to hand debut to four players --Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Nitish Rana, and Chetan Sakariya. Padikkal and Gaikwad made their debut. The Covid-affected Krunal Pandya was among those who missed the match.
