IND vs WI live update: The Indian cricket team beat the West Indies cricket team in the second ODI of the three-match ODI series at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat by 44 runs totake an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three match series, hhaving won the first match by five wickets at the same venue.
West Indies, who were set a target of 238 to win, never looked like getting to it as they kept losing wickets continuously and ended up being 767-5 before Akeal Hosein joined Shamarh Brooks and both added 44 for the sixth wicket. Hosein then partnered with Fabian Allen to get Windies past 150 and in contention of the chase before both of them were removed quick succession to leave the Caribbean team reeling at 159-8.
A few big shots from Odean Smith flickered up some hope for the Windies team but Washington Sunar's tight line saw his back as well. West Indies were eventually bowled out for 193. Prasidh Krishna picked four wickets for India while Shardul Thakur got two wickets.
Earlier in the day after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India set 238 as the target for West Indies after Suryakumar Yadav's 64 and 49 from KL Rahul. Odean Smith and Alzarri Joseph picked two wickets each for West Indies.
