India win the third and final ODI between India and West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Indian team has already now completed a clean sweep over the West Indies having taken an unassailable 2-0 lead earlier. This 3-0 sweep by Rohit Sharma and his troops is the first time in history that an Indian team has won an ODI series against West Indies without dropping a single game.
The West Indies batting unit was once again no match to the Indian bowling and had it not been for a 47 run stand for the ninth wicket between Alzarri Joseph and Hayden Walsh Jr and a quickfire 36 from Odean Smith later in the innings, crossing even the 100 run barrier would have been difficult for the team from the Caribbean. Nicholas Pooran, the skipper also contributed with the bat but didn't stay at the wicket for long. He scored 34.
For India, Mohd Siraj and Prasidh Krishna picked three wickets each while Kuldeep Yadav and Deepak Chahar who were playing for the first time in the series picked two wickets each as well.
Earlier India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first.
India managed to get 265 in their 50 overs courtesy of important innings from Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant who scored 80 and 56 respectively. Along with their innings, the cameos by Deepak Chahar and Washington Sundar who made 38 and 33 respectively was also important to get the team to 265.
India were all out for the first time in the series as Jason Holder finished with figures of 4-34 in his 8 over spell. Hayden Walsh Jr and Alzarri Joseph picked two wickets each as well.
