India Women vs New Zealand Women: India lose by a huge margin of 62 runs. Amy Satterthwaite, Amelia Kerr and Lea Tahuhu shone for the hosts, for India, Harmanpreet's form with bat was a bright spot

IND W vs NZ W Highlights: The India Women's cricket team lost by a huge margin of 62 runs against the hosts New Zealand Women's cricket team in the second game of their campaign in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Amelia Kerr with her all-round performance, Lea Tahuhu with her three-wicket haul and Amy Sattetherwaite with her brilliant 75 with the bat were the heroes for the White Ferns as it registered its second win in a row after the opening day's 3 run loss to West Indies.

Sattetherwaite was adjudged Player of the Match for her match-defining knock. Amelia was her biggest competition as she finished with figures of 3/56 in nine overs and also scored 50. 

India were nowhere near the target in the chase of 261 as they lagged behind right from the very start as Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma fell in the Powerplay with India making just 26 runs. From there onwards it was a chasing game and India weren't able to chase as the biggest partnership they had was 47 runs between Mithali Raj and Harmanp[reet Kaur. Kaur top-scored for Women in Blue with 71 off just 63 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. 

New Zealand innings restricted to 260-9

Earlier in the day, after winning the toss and deciding to field first, the Indian team restricted the Kiwis to only 260-9 after a brilliant showing from bowling all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar who picked four wickets. The Madhya Pradesh bowler finished her spell with figures of 4-34. 

New Zealand were looking all set to get a score in the vicinity of 290-300 when Sattetherwaite (75) and Amelia Kerr (50) were batting together. Even with Katy Martin and Satterthwaite in the middle and New Zealand at 224-4 at the end of the 42nd over, 280 looked like a certainty. But very tight bowling from India meant that they got five wickets in the last eight overs and conceded only 36 runs.

Courtesy of those two quick wickets, New Zealand have now registered a huge 62 run win and that would take their net run rate to a huge plus and it would be the opposite for India.

And finally, the entertainment from Harmanpreet Kaur has come to an end as India lose its eighth wicket. It was pitched up and flighted from Amelia Kerr who has a stumping chance missed off her bowling on the previous ball. Harman tried to lift it over mid-off for a six, but it wasn't to be as the ball could reach only Sophie Devin stationed at long-off and she pouched it easily. India are 179-8 and need 82 from 34 balls now
