India vs Australia, 2nd ODI Highlights: It was Mitchell Starc with the ball with his 5/53 and then Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head with the bat as they took Australia to a 10-wicket win. Series now 1-1

The Indian team would be delighted to see the kind of form that KL Rahul displayed in the first ODI at Wankhede Stadium. But the rest of the batters struggled against the pace and swing of Mitchell Starc, Sean Abbott and even Marcus Stoinis. 

The Australian batters themselves weren’t any better as Mohammed Shami had the number of most of them. Mitchell Marsh however looked totally in touch and seemed like the only batter who could have gotten the Aussies to a better score than 188. 

Now in the second game, the Aussies would be looking to get better than the hosts in both departments and thereby keep the series alive. But India will surely look to win this one and seal the series before the third and final ODI.

Travis Head hit his fifty by taking two doubles and then took a single and have the strike to Mitch Marsh who hit a four on the final ball of the 11th over to win the game for Australia and level the series. This has been a thorough display of batting by both the Aussie openers and a solid display of cricket overall by the Kangaroos.

Hardik Pandya was brought into the attack ion search of a wicket. Instead, he has been hit for three sixes in four balls as Mitchell Marsh has brought up a fifty, his second in two matches in this series. Australia now need only 27 more to win the match.

India after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, never looked in control one bit as they lost Shubman Gill in the first over itself. Later on, wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Virat Kohli tried to hold on to one end, but a Nathan Ellis’ in-cutter was too good for him as well. In the end, the men in blue were bowled for 117 in 26 overs. Kohli top scored with 31 while Axar Patel made 29* to take India past 100.

It looks very tough to imagine that India could defend 117 on a wicket which is not supporting spin. It is the pace which has done the damage and India have gone in with only two genuine pacers in Mohd Siraj and Mohd Shami. The other option in Hardik Pandya is not someone who can keep bowling 5-6 overs at a stretch.
