It looked just another India vs West Indies match during the first innings and even during the initial overs of the West Indies batting but Shai Hope and Hetmyer's combined efforts denied India another victory.
It was a double delight for India captain Virat Kohli who completed 10000 runs in ODI format taking just 205 innings to do so and then hitting his 37th ODI century. Kohli was also adjudged man of the match for his prolific performance with the bat, scoring 157 runs including 13 fours and 3 sixes.
Virat Kohli also became the fastest player to score 10,000 runs in ODIs, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's record.
However, Windies marred Kohli's milestone day as Shae Hope scored 123 runs not out and nearly took the match away from India but the last over confusions proved costly to the team.
West Indies top order was crubling yet again but signs of life were seen as Hope and Hetmyer took charge of the posts.
Hetmyer was yet again punishing Indian bowlers and was on the verge of scoring another century but a wrong timing cost him his wicket when just 6 runs away from century.
Hope was the sole hope for Indies even after R Powell too departed and he lived up to the momoent till the last ball, but it all stil fell short.
Kuldeep Yadav kept getting breakthrough initially, picking two key wicketts of Hemraj and Samuels and then scalping R Powell's wicket and it looked in control as earlier Shami removed Keiron Powell on the score of 18 runs, but then things turned the other way and Indian bowlers struggled for saving even singles, wickets weren't even a question as Hope accompanied by other batsmen were punishing all the bowlers.
Earlier, West Indies bowlers, including captain Holder, Mc Coy and Kemar Roach faced Kohli's fury and Rayudu's assault.
Bishoo and Nurse were of no help too as Kohli went on a rampage.
Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma couldn't do much today and Dhoni and Jadeja too barely managed to score big runs for the team.
