Full-time report: Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters FC shared points at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai after either team failed to find the back of the net.
Chennaiyin have been the better of the two teams and have dominated not just the possession but also in terms of creating chances with Thoi Singh particularly at the end of the best of opportunities to take a lead, although the Indian international fluffed both his chances.
His first chance came in the 30th minute when he cracked one from the right edge of the box thta Dheeraj did wonderfully to turn away for a corner.
Three minutes later, Jeje drove down the right wing and took a couple of Kerala defenders with him before laying the ball off for Thoi Singh down the middle. Singh just had to tap the ball in but shot it wide instead.
Kerala created a fine chance in the 55th minute when Sahal got inside the box and in good position, slammed his shot but Ghosh made the save. The ball fell back to Sahal who then fired it over the bar.
The visitors had another chance in the 81st minute when A cross by Jhingan was punched out by the keeper. Narzary headed it back down to Doungel in the middle who tried to place it in the bottom right corner but it rolld from the other side of the post.
The draw lifts Chennaiyin FC to eighth position in points table with five points from nine games while Kerala are a spot above with eight points from nine games.
