Except for that and a couple more good chances, Delhi didn't do much in terms of creating chances, neither did Chennai despite the gameplay across the park not lacking in quality. Although, both teams did miss teeth upfront.
Chennai started the second half more brightly as just within three minutes of the game's restart, Raphael brought the ball to the box and laid it off in Carlos Salom's path. Salom, though, with only the goalkeeper to beat, shot the ball wide of the post.
Another chance for Salom and Delhi came in the 70th minute when Chennaiyin started a counter and created a 3 vs 1 situation. Isaac played it in to Salom who was one-on-one with Dorronsoro. The Delhi keeper charged out, narrowed the angle down and made a terrific save. The Spaniard again made a fine diving save from a low driven shot by Gregory in the 77th minute.
In the 84th minute, Augusto too had a crack at the goal from outside the box. he whipped the ball towards the top-left corner only for a leaping Durronsoro to parry it away for corner.
The draw leaves Delhi with three points and they sit in the eighth spot of the points table while Chennai are second-last in the ninth spot with just a solitary point from their opening four games. Time's running out on both the teams and if either of them are to make any headaways in this edition, they ought to start winning games sooner than later.
