Full-time report: Mumbai City FC and ATK played out a scoreless draw at the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday.
ATK had a great chance to score the opener in the 15th minute when Santos latched on to a loose ball, drove to the byline and pulled the ball back for Thatak whose first-time strike was a miscued one that lacked both power and precision..
The match fizzled into a ping-pong contest with not much quality in the final third from either team. Maybe the second half will bring more quality?
Mumbai built up an attack nicely after exchanging a number of passes in the 49th minute. In the end, the ball fell nicely for Machado who tried to hit in on the volley but his shot was blocked. For the rest of the second half, the two teams created a couple half chances but never really came close to scoring one. Unsurprsingly, the match ended in a draw.
The draw sends Mumbai City to the fourth spot with 14 points from eight games while ATK rest in the sixth spot with 11 points from eight games.
