Full-time: There, you have it. Chennaiyin FC finally have their first goal of Indian Super League 2018-19. But that goal by Eli sabia came too little too late as the visiting team Goa FC had wrapped up the match by then with the scoreline reading 0-3 and the game minutes away from being over.

Goa started the game at the Marina Arena strongly, stringing together passes that the Chennai players had no answer to, so it wasn't a surprise when Bedia received a cut-back into the box and drove his effort low into the bottom left corner to make it 1-0.

Chennai started growing into the game only after the quarter of the match was complete, with players going for rough challenges on each other and the referee brandhising the card.

The home team created multiple opportunities during the later phase of the half, much of which came from cutbacks from the byline. Thapa missed a couple chances while Gregory Nelson's low-driven shot narrowly missed the target.

Tempers flared up as the clock kept on ticking and the referee had to give three additional minutes.

From the get-go in the second half, Chennai looked a different team, pushing forward regularly and trying for that equaliser.

The goal came soon, but it was for Goa. The Chennai defenders failed to deal with a Goa attack in the right channel and a pass was slipped inside the box which found Coro at the far post all by himself, leaving him with a simple tap-in to make it 0-2.

Chennai had a great opportunity to pull one goal back in the 66th minute when Agusto got a delicious goal-scoring opportunity just in front of the box after a Jeje flick-on but he could only put his effort over the bar.

Goa all but ended the match in the 79th minute when Jahouh lobbed a ball into the box where Coro rose the highest to flick it on for Senegalese Mourtada Fall who nestled the ball into the top left corner for Goa's third goal.

Chennai did get a goal of his own in additional time, 94th minute to be precise. Chennai got a corner and Eli Sabia got his head at the end of it to nestle it into the right corner of the goalpost. But, by that time, it was too little too late for the home team.

The defeat has piled further misery on Gregory's men but a late goal should inspire them to do better when they face their next opponent after the international break.

On the other hand, Sergio Lobera couldn't have been happier after his team absolutely hammered the reigning champions and now go top of the points table. Coro has come up with the goods, as he always does and he too rises to the top of the rankings for golden boot. It's a good night for the visitors and the flight back to Goa should be a happy one for them.
