Jamshedpur FC put two past home team Mumbai City FC as Mario Arques and Pablo Morgado figured on the scoresheet at the end of the Indian Super League match at Mumbai's Football Arena on Tuesday.

Coming into the game, Jamshedpur FC were missing their two most important players in Tim Cahill and Subrato Paul -- both out due to suspension. But the absence of their star men mattered little to the visiting team as they controlled the proceedings from the very beginning. Jamshedpur had a very easy time building from the back as they faced little resistance from the Mumbai players.

By the turn of the 17th minute, Mumbai did begin to assert themselves although they couldn't really make things difficult for the visitors.

The first goal came in the 27th minute when Arques skipped past two players to venture into the far corner where a cross found him. The Spaniard headed his ball into the far corner, making the side-netting bulge.

Mumbai did have their chances although most of them were because of the defensive lapses on the part of Jamshedpur defence. By the end of the first half, Jamshedpur were leading 1-0, but a Mumbai comeback looked a great possibility mainly because they had started to find feet in the later stages of the first half.

The second half began with Lucian Goian pulling off a goal-line save to deny Jamshedpur the second goal. Calvo put in a brilliant ball from left corner and Tiri redirected it to the far post but Goian was there to cut off the delivery milimeters away from the goal line. Minutes later, it was Mumbai's turn to mount an attack which culminated with Subhasish Roy coming off his line to make a great one-on-one save. The keeper made another brilliant save nearly 10 minutes later when a good ball by Goian found Sougou in the box who headed it into the box before Subhasish leapt and parried the ball out to safety.

Bikash Jairu had been a bright spot in Jamshedpur's overall play. He was involved in his team's many dangerous moves, helping out with his electrifying pace and bravery. In the 63rd minute, he did brilliantly to put in a cross that found his teammate all alone on the left hand side who found Passi in front of the box. However, Passi blasted his effort way above the crossbar.

The chances alternated for both teams but they came in good numbers as minutes later Mumbai got another great oppotunity. Sougou controlled the ball, took it to the byline and floated it back for Bhmij who side-footed it on goal but Tiri was there to block the shot. Tiri made another great save just a couple minutes later. In the next 10 minutes, Mumbai scored twice, only for the linesman to raise the flag for offside.

As the minutes continued to tick, Mumbai pushed more men forward, trying to find that elusive equaliser. However, the plan backfired since they left a big gap behind. A defence-spliting pass in the 94th minute found substitute Pablo Morgado on the right wing who fired in a powerful drive that brushed past the goalkeeper's arm and into the net to make it 2-0 in favour of Jamshedpur.

The comprehensive win must have excited the Jamshedpur camp who are yet to field their best players. They had been good on the road in the past campaign, as they were here tonight. They had been defensively solid, and they weren't too bad in Mumbai either. For the home team though, a 0-2 defeat in front of the home crowd at the very beginning of the campaign bodes tragedy. Mumbai have consistenly underperformed in the tournament and if this match is anything to go by, things don't look too bright for them in this campaign either.
