IPL 2019: Mumbai cruise to playoffs after super-over win against Hyderabad

In today’s match of VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL 2019), Mumbai Indians (MI) led by Rohit Sharma defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Super Over to qualify for the IPL 2019 playoffs on Thursday.

Mumbai Indians are now at the second position in IPL 2019 points tablewith 16 points in 13 matches.

Opting to bat, Mumbai Indians scored 162 for five in the allotted 20 overs, Quinton de Kock was the top scorer with 69 runs while brief innings by Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav helped the team take the total to 162/5 in 20 overs.

In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a fine start with Wriddiman Saha and Matin Guptill scoring 40 runs in first 5 overs but Bumrah removed both the openers in quick succession. 

Manish Pandey shouldered the responsibility and remianed till the last over. Mohammad Nabi played a crucial role as he eased off the pressure with two sixes and as many fours.

SRH needed 7 runs in last ball and Manish Pandey smased a six off Hardik Pandya's last ball that tied the match.

In super over, Manish Pandey and Mohammad Nabi came to bat while Jasprit Bumrah was given the ball by Rohit Sharma. 

SRH lost Manish Pandey on runout and Bumrah removed Nabi's stumps. Mumbai needed 9 runs to won the match.

Hardik Pandya started the chase with a six and took a single to let Kieron Pollard do the rest.

As Rashid Khan bowled the third delivery, Pollard quickley ran for two runs and sealed the win for Mumbai.
