Chasing the target of 209 was always going to be tough, but Delhi Capitals started well. Although they lost a few wickets early on but kept going at a good rate until Moeen Ali came in and got both Micthell Marsh and Rishabh Pant in consecutive overs. That broke the back of the Capitals' chase and from there onwards wickets kept falling until they were all out for 117, losing the game by a huge margin of 91 runs.
Earlier in the evening, after losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Chennai Super Kings got off to a flyer thanks to its openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad as they added 110 for the first wicket in only 11 overs.
Though Gaikwad got out, Conway continued and scored 87 off just 49 balls before being caught out, trying to play a cheeky shot. In the end, with the help of some big shots from MS Dhoni, the Super Kings posted a total of 208-6 in their 20 overs.

Devon Conway was rightly adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant performance with the bat as he scored 87 off just 49 balls, hitting seven fours and five stunning sixes. This was his third consecutive fifty since re-joining the CSK bubble after his return from his homeland South Africa where he went in between IPL for his marriage. In today's game, he was lethal against Kuldeep Yadav, Delhi's main spinner and made a psychological advantage over him and the entire Capitals unit.
