Chasing the target of 138, KKR lost Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer early and even as Shreyas Iyer tried to build a stand with Sam Billings, he and Nitish Rana became two victims of Rahul Chahar ion one over and the match suddenly opened. or three movers it was slow going. But once Russell got going, there was just no stopping as he scored 70* off just 31 balls and Billings made 24* to see the team home in 14.3 overs.
Earlier in the evening, Knight Riders bowlers, led by Umesh Yadav bamboozled Punjab Kings and got them all out for 137 in only 18.2 overs, Yadav picked 4/23 while Tim Southee finished with 2/36. Spinners Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine were brilliant. Narine got a wicket as well. Bhanuka Rajapaksa top-scored for Kings with 31 off 9 balls.
KKR vs PBKS Player of the Match: Umesh Yadav
Umesh Yadav who finished his four-over spell with 4/23 and was instrumental in getting Punjab Kings bowled out for 136 with his double-wicket maiden was awarded the Player of the Match award. He now has 8 wickets in three games and also got the Purple Cap in his firm grip.
KKR vs PBKS Changes in Playing 11 from last game
KKR captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Wankhede wicket which was no surprise.
