It was a brilliant effort first of all by Rajat Patidar with the bat who scored a magnificent 112* to take the Royal Challengers Bangalore to 207 in the first innings. Then Harshal Patel's figures of 1-25 in four overs made sure that Lucknow Super Giants could reach only as far as 193-6. This way the two secured a 14 run victory for their team and pushed it to Qualifier 2 where they will take on the loser of Qualifier-1, Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 27, 2022.

Rajat Patidar was rightly declared player of the match for his amazing innings of 112* off just 54 balls. He was striking at more than 200 and hit 12 fours and seven sixes in that marathon knock which lasted from the first over till the last over of the RCB innings. His was the knock that set up the victory for the team and mattered a lot in the end given that no other RCB player even crossed the 40 run mark with the bat 

IPL 2022 Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Eliminator Toss

Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bowl first in overcast conditions at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata against Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore. 

The Lucknow Super Giants have debuted Manan Vihara as a batter in this game as Jason Holder has been sat down due to some injury concerns. In place of Holder, Dushmantha Chameera has come into the Playing 11 while Vihra replaced Krishnappa Gowtham. 

Bangalore too made one change from their previous game as Mohammed Siraj was brought back in place of Siddarth Kaul.
