Virat Kohli finally performed when it mattered as he got his team Royal Challengers Bangalore over the line by eight wickets. He scored 73 off 54 balls to chase down 169 against Gujarat Titans, the table toppers. With this win, the Bangalore side now stay alive in the race to the Playoffs and would pray that Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals or Rajasthan lose big time to Chennai Super Kings for them to be able to finish either three or four in the Points Table. 

Earlier in the evening after winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Gujarat Titans, riding on the back of its skipper Hardik Pandya’s 62*, David Miller’s 35 and Rashid Khan’s 6 ball 19 managed to reach 168-5 in their 20 overs. Purple cap holder Wanindu Hasaranag was the pick of the bowlers for RCB with his 1-25 in four overs.

Virat Kohli who returned back to his batting form by making 73 off 54 balls at a strike rate of 135 was awarded the Player of the Match. He got to his fifty in just 33 balls and added a crucial 115 for the first wicket alongside RCB skipper Faf du Plessis. In total, Kohli hit eight fours and two sixes.

Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided that his team will bat first against Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Even du Plessis wanted to bat first. 

Both the teams made one change each as Lockie Ferguson came in for Alzarri Joseph for the Titans while Siddharth Kaul will make his RCB debut in place of Mohammed Siraj tonight.
