RCB vs PBKS Highlights Punjab Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by a huge margin of 54 runs to keep their Playoffs alive as they now have 12 points from 12 games and need to win their remaining two games to get to 16 points and then the net run rate might come into the Play and they already have improved upon that and have chance to make more improvements if they win their upcoming two matches.
Bangalore on the other hand, have only one match left and they must win that t stand any chance at qualifying because their net run rate, which was already negative, has nosedived after this huge defeat. Their chase of 210 never got going as Virat Kohli fell in the fourth over and from there onwards wickets just kept falling as no batter was even able to cross the 50 run mark individually and eventually the RCB could only make 155/9 in their 20 overs.
Punjab bowled and fielded really well as all its bowlers got at least one wicket with Rabada, who dismissed Kohli to start the proceedings, leading the chart with three wickets to his name, finishing with figures of 3-21 in his four overs.
Earlier in the evening after being asked t bat first, Punjab got off to the best start possible as its batters scored 83 in the Powerplay. If Jonny Bairstow was the wrecker in chief at the start of the innings with his 29 ball 66, Liam Livingstone gave it a great finishing touch as he scored 70 off just 42 balls to take Punjab Kings to 209/9 in their 20 overs.
RCB vs PBKS Player of the Match: Jonny Bairstow
It was a tale of two Englishmen as far as the Punjab batting was concerned, but Jonny Bairstow was adjudged Player of the Match only because he provided the start and the foundation on which Livingstone built the 209 run castle. Bairstow hits a 21 ball fifty and in his knock of 66, hit four fours and seven sixes
