RR vs CSK Highlights Ravichandran Ashwin's all-around show made sure that Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets and book a place in Qualifier-1 by finishing second in the Points Table. Ashwin made an all-important 40* off just 23 balls after being promoted to number four in the batting order.
None of the other batters apart from him and Yashasvi Jaiswal were able to stay at the crease for long and Rajsthan found themselves struggling at 112-5 in the 17th over when Hetmyer departed. But Ashwin held his nerves and along with Riyan Parag guided his team home.
Credit to this win, the Royals finish at 18 points in the Points Table, the same as the Lucknow Super Giants. But since the net run rate of the team from Jaipur is better than Lucknow, they would finish at the second position in the Points Table below Gujarat Titans.
They will now face the Hardik Pandya led Titans in the first Qualifier, the winner of which will straightaway move to the IPL 2022 final, while the loser will get one more shot at making it to the final when they face the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2.
The eliminator will be contested by Lucknow and the fourth-place finisher, which will be either Delhi Capitals or Royal Challengers Bangalore, depending upon the result of the Capitals' last match against Mumbai Indians.
RR vs CSK Player of the Match: Ravichandran Ashwin
There was no doubt as to who the Player of the Match was going to be after the end of the game. Ravi Chandran Ashwin, who scored a brilliant 40* off 23 balls and finished with figures of 1/28 in his four overs after going for 16 runs in his first, was rightly chosen as Player of the Match.
