RR vs RCB Qualifier 2 Highlights Jos Buttler's special innings in which he hit his fourth century of the Indian Premier League 2022 season, blew away Royal Challengers Bangalore as Rajasthan Royals chased down the target of 158 with 11 balls to spare and marched into the IPL 2022 Final to be held on May 29, 2022, at the same venue- Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
In the final, the Royals would face Gujarat Titans who had beaten them in the first Qualifier early on in the Playoffs.
In tonight's chase, the Royals got off to a great start as the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Buttler added 61 in only the first five overs of the match before the partnership was broken. Buttler however kept on going even as he lost partners at the other end in the form of Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal before Shimron Hetmyer stuck with him and they both made sure that Buttler got to his century and Royals got over the line as quickly as possible.
Earlier in the evening after winning the toss and ceding to field first, Rajasthan never let RCB build a massive partnership and kept nibbling away at their wickets right from the word go. In fact, the Challengers lost six wickets in the last 37 balls and scored only 47 runs. Obed McCoy and Parasidh Krishna took three wickets each for the Royals.
RR vs RCB Qualifier 2 Player of the Match: Jos Buttler
It could have not been clearer than this that Jos Buttler was the Player of the Match for his belligerent match-winning and one of the greatest T20 knocks played in India. The Englishman scored 106* off just 60 balls, hitting 10 fours and six sixes on the way.
This was Buttler’s fourth century of the season, the most by any batter in a single season of IPL in the league's 15-year-old journey so far. He has also scored four half-centuries to go with these centuries and has crossed the 800 run mark for an individual player in the IPL. So far only two more people have been able to do that. They are Virat Kohli and David Warner, the legends of the game.
