IPL Auction 2023 Live: Feel good buys of the Auction

 
Apart from the big buys, there were some feel-good buys in the Auction too which were not huge, but did give the fans a reason to be happy about. 
 
One such buy was Mukesh Kumar. Currently playing for Bengla, Mukesh is a son of a Taxi-Driver who migrated from Bihar's Gopalganj. It was only this year that Mukesh got an India A call-up and was also picked in the senior India team for the Bangladesh Test series. Mukesh fetched Rs 5.5 Cr from Delhi Capitals. 
 
Joe Root, Sikandar Raza and Litton Das would be part of the IPL for the first time. All of these players have put in hard yards in the last year to deserve a place in the biggest cricket league in the world.

IPL Auction 2023 Live: Major highlights of the day

 
Ben Stokes, who was supposed to get the highest bid of the Auctions, was sold for Rs 16.25 cr to Chennai Super Kings while his teammate from England, Sam Curran fetched the highest amount for any player in the history of the IPL Auctions. 
 
The left-arm pacer who is also a handy batter in the lower order bagged Rs 18.5 cr from Punjab Kings. Cameron Green of Australia got Rs 17.5 cr from Mumbai Indians as they went all-out seeking the replacement of Kieron Pollard. 
 
Sunrisers Hyderabad, who had the biggest purse going into the auction bought Harry Brook for Rs 13.25 Cr while Nicholas Pooran received a whooping Rs 16 Cr from Lucknow Super Giants.

A total of 80 players were sold today for a whopping Rs 167 Cr. Out of the 80, 29 were overseas including the five most expensive buys
