NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: Match summary

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan scored a fifty each as the men in green outplayed the Kiwis in all departments to beat them by 7 wickets. It was not an easy target at all, given that the pitch was a sluggish one and New Zealand had two quality spinners in Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner. However, the opening pair of Babar and Rizwan added 105 for the first wicket and then the Pakistanis didn't lose wickets in a bunch and thus sailed through in 19.1 overs and achieved the target of 153 easily. They now enter the final and await the winner of the India-England clash.

Earlier in the evening, New Zealand crossed the 150 mark on this not-so-easy wicket to bat at the SCG. Daryl Mitchell was the sheet anchor of the innings as he made sure that the run of play did not slow down too much. He has scored 53 off 35 balls, and along with skipper Williamson put in a much-needed partnership of 68 runs. Then again, he added 35 with Jimmy Neesham off just 22 balls to get to 152 eventually.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi picked 2/24 while Muhammad Nawaz picked 1/12 as he could only bowl two overs of his four-over quota.

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: Pakistan into the final

Wide!! Southee tried to follow the batter and went for his pads, but Shan Masood held on to his movement and didn’t move at all. Courtesy of that, the scores are now tied.

Played past Southee in his followthrough and Shan Masood hits the winning runs as Pakistan make it to the final.

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: Oh Devon Conway!!

He has had a horrid night. It was a great ball to the left-hander as it beat Shan Masood, but it also beat Devon Conway behind the stumps and three byes were collected by Pakistan batters. Had he just held on to that, especially seeing that Muhammad Haris is now out of the next ball? It would have really been interesting that way

4:52 PM

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: It’s been that sort of day for New Zealand

Ish Sodhi has dropped a catch and not only a catch, it would have made a new batter coming in and a dot ball most importantly to make the game interesting, but not to be.

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: Muhammad Haris does it easy

Just as it was turning tense with 19 needed off 15 balls, Lockie Ferguson goes for the yorker, Muhammad Haris made some room and hit that past mid-off which was obviously in the ring and pulled away all the pressure.

Then, after that, he pulled one away for a six off the very next ball and took a single off the last ball. Now Pakistan need only 8 off 12 balls

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: Rizwan out, Pakistan still need 21 off 18

So there seems to be some confusion here as Mohammad Rizwan hit the full toss straight to Gleen Philipps who caught it easily. But then the Pakistan players were running the third as they thought it was a no-ball, and then one of the batters got run out too. Eventually, it is Rizwan who has got out as the ball was legitimate according to the third umpire.

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: Another catch dropped by New Zealand

The Kiwi team really does melt under pressure and it is showing here as Mitchell Snatner dropped a sitter at a backward point. This is the first game that New Zealand have dropped catches in and what a match they have chosen to harm their interests.

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: New Zealand waste another review

Muhammad Haris tried to play a reverse sweep but got hit n the pads, it looked like the impact was outside off and wickets missing, but New Zealand went for the review and ultimately lost it.

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: Babar Azam walks back

New Zealand finally have an opening, but it seems like too little too late as Pakistan only need 43 off 41 balls to win the game and Muhammad Haris has come in who doesn’t like to waste time either

4:10 PM

NZ vs PAK T20 World Cup Semi-Final LIVE Score: New Zealand in need of inspiring change

10 overs have passed and Pakistan have cruised to 87-0. Both Babar ad Rizwan are going strong and the team needs only 66 runs in the last 60 balls. Thus, to get back in the game, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson would have to throw the ball to someone who could bring him a wicket and put a stop to the free-wheeling scoring.
