PKL 2022 LIVE Highlights
It was yet another Triple Panga night at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Stadium in Balewadi, Pune. After three very exciting matches on the opening night of actions in Pune, six teams were in action tonight as well. Dabang Delhi, still the table toppers played against Bengaluru Bulls while two laggards in Telugu Titans and Gujarat Giants squared off against each other. In the last game of the night, U Mumba took on Bengal Warriors in a mid-table clash.
Dabang Delhi vs Bengaluru Bulls: Superb win for Bulls
When Bengaluru were trailing 37-42 with an all-out by Delhi and their skipper was sent off the mat with two minutes suspension and there was nothing positive to think about, Benki Bharat rose and chose to shine. He got two raid points just after the time-out. Dabang Delhi were still leading 42-39 and then Bengaluru produced a tackle and the game became 40-42, still in favour of Delhi with less than a minute to go. Bharat came and took a point.
It was now down to the last 45 seconds and Delohi chose to play it safe and went for an empty radio. But what happened next just blew their minds as Bharat took out all three players of the defence in a single raid, claiming his third super raid of the evening and taking the Bulls in the lead of 46-42. Naveen took a bonus quickly and then Bharat got a bous in the last raid to end the two-minute madness which changed the game completely.
Courtesy of this win, the Bulls have now replaced Dabang Delhi at the top of the table as Bengaluru have 29 points from 8 games as compared to Delhi’s 28. Bharat ended up with a Super 20
Telugu Titans vs Gujarat Giants: Gujarat take easy 5 points home
The Ginats from Gujarat, after trailing 9-12 at halftime, came back strong and beat the Telugu Titans 30-19. This is now the seventh loss for the Titans in eight games which is not at all a good sign. The Giants would now move to the fifth position in the points table with 24 points to their name.
U Mumba vs Bengal Warriors: Victory for Mumba
Bengal Warriors have lost this strategically as they have not been able to get anything gpoing in the second half. They had an opportunity at 24-30 and Maninder could have scored a point and got Mumba down to two men, but instead, he was super tackled and the gme was lost then and there. In the end, Mumba wins it 36-25, giving not even a single point to the Bengal Warriors.
