Bengal Warriors earned a hard-fought win as they beat Tamil Thalaivas 28-21 in Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season six (PKL 2018). Maninder Singh was the star raider for Bengal Warriors as he scored 7 points while in defence Surjeet Singh put in a commanding performance and scored 6 tackle points. Amit Hooda was a rock at the back for Tamil Thalaivas and scored 8 points but just didn’t get enough support from his raiders. Bengal Warriors remain in the hunt for a place in the playoffs and will be looking to win their next few matches.
It was an evenly contested first half with the defences of both teams in fine form. Tamil Thalaivas started brightly and led 3-1 after first three minutes with Ajay Thakur and Sukesh Hegde getting raid points. For the first 10 minutes of the match it was the Thalaivas who were in lead.
Bengal Warriors came back strongly and leveled the match at 8-8 in the 12th minute. At the end of the first half Bengal Warriors held a slender lead as they eld 11-10.
In the 16th minute the Warriors inflicted an all out to lead 16-13. Surjeet Singh marshaled the defence brilliantly for the Warriors. Till the 35th minute the teams were locked in an intense battle but Warriors switched gears. Ran Singh’s two-point raid in the 36th minute was the turning point as it helped Bengal Warriors inflict an all out and ensured their win.

PKL 2018 highlights, Day 58, Match 1: Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Puneri Paltan Jaipur Pink Panthers began their home leg with a comprehensive win as they beat Puneri Paltan 36-23 in the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League season six. Deepak Hooda, with eight raid points, and Sunil Siddhgavale, with eight tackle points, were the heroes of the match for Jaipur. Puneri Paltan lost their way after the first 10 minutes of the match. GB More top-scored for Pune with five raid points. Jaipur Pink Panthers still have an outside chance of making it to the playoffs while Puneri Paltan are not in contention.
The first five minutes of the match were evenly contested with both teams trading raid and tackle points. Ajinkya Pawar made a successful raid in the 6th minute to give Jaipur Pink Panthers 5-4 lead. Deepak Hooda made a two-point raid in the 10thminute as Jaipur led 9-7. From that point Jaipur Pink Panthers never looked back and left Puneri Paltan behind. An all out was inflicted by Jaipur as they led 12-7 and looked in rampant form. In the next 10 minutes they allowed Puneri Paltan to score just two points as Deepak Hooda led the raid department while Sunil Sidhgavali marshaled the defence.
At the end of the first half, Jaipur Pink Panthers held a healthy lead of 12 points with the score 21-9. Sandeep Narwal started the second half on a brighter note for Puneri Paltan with a two-point raid in the 22nd minute. Jaipur Pink Panthers looked in full control in the second half and didn't take any unnecessary risks. With less than five minutes to go, Jaipur led 30-20 and looked on course for a comfortable victory.
