Country Manager, Unisys India What's in your pocket?
My 24/7 global companion - a Sony Ericsson p800 mobile phone/PDA. It follows me wherever I go, and is a smart companionwith infinite possibilities.
First crush?
Citibank's global email system. I first used it when I was as an employee at Citibank in 1986.
Latest squeeze?
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T1. A balanced squeeze of sophistication and miniaturisation. It takes the same features found on full-sized digital cameras and squeezes them into a slim, stylish and durable metal body no larger than a deck of cards. By the way it also records short audio/video clips as well!!
What makes you mad?
Mobile phone camera - a smart but a very invasive device.
What would you most love to see?
"Global" wireless internet access from my laptop - any place, any time and not limited to hot spots, just like global mobile roaming. I have a Reliance sierra card for wireless internet access from my laptop throughout India without any roaming charges. I would love to see it working all over the world.
Your biggest tech disaster?
Getting a separate PDA and mobile phone. It was very troublesome keeping them synchronised, and carrying two of them around.
If money was no object?
I would get the best product design companies and leading laptop manufacturers to work together to design the sleekest, lightest and most powerful laptop with very long battery life.
PC or MAC?
PC. To work with the Mac needs a different mindset.
Linux or Windows?
Windows for the moment but the future with Linux.
Google or not?
To not Google is to save time. To Google is time well spent.
How wrong have you been?
Very wrong, almost half the tech gadgets I buy never get used. Luckily, the other half work twice as hard and make up for the wrong ones!!
