Mcube Investment Technologies, a US-based provider of decision support products for investment management, has announced the launch of AlphaEngine in India for investment management decision making.

The company was founded two years ago by Arun Muralidhar who is based in the US. It does most of its software development work out of Bangalore. AlpineEngine, its first product, was launched in the US last September. The company is yet to finalise its India pricing.

According to the company, the product aims to bring real time investment management capability (with changing NAV) to the investor's desktop.

"This product can help improve investment decisions made by any investor, from large country level pension systems or central bank reserves management, operations to hedge fund, fund-of-funds and even individuals. The Indian market is ripe for such as applications and would allow investment firms in India to rapidly achieve best practices."

He further added that they have clients in the US and Europe managing close to $100 billion worth of assets. Among the clients is a leading European pension fund, the Dutch metalworkers Fund. The company currently has a topline of around $1 million and a large forex management firm, FX-Concepts is an investor in this firm.

"Investors with limited quantitative or technical skills can model their static portfolio and then develop intelligent rules within AlphaEngine to manage their portfolio dynamically and see the impact immediately," the spokesman noted.

It allows complex asset management techniques to be incorporated into a portfolio in a transparent and easy-to-use manner, thereby improving returns, risk management and governance, he added.

"Since it is delivered through the internet, the target client base is global, covering a wide gamut of investment operations. We are committed to changing the face of investment management through our product offerings and, in the process, establish the company at the cutting edge of decision support for the industry," he highlighted.
