According to Gartner, Inc., HR and recruitment leaders have begun using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve HR efficiency and enhance employee experience. Gartner, Inc. has identified the three most common use cases: In talent acquisition, voice of the employee and virtual HR assistants. In talent acquisition, a fair number of HR leaders are interested in applying AI across areas such as talent management, HR service delivery and workforce management. Voice of the employee (VoE) analytics is the second most popular domain area attracting interest from HR leaders as they seek to improve how they monitor employee engagement. This helps the organisation to avoid unnecessary, costly and unwanted attrition. While HR virtual assistants are still at a stage of early adoption, the expectation is that there will be a unique front end for every imaginable HR process (such as answering queries by employees or delivering insights on talent metrics).

According to Ericsson Mobility Report for June, the India region, which also comprises Nepal and Bhutan, has the highest average usage per smartphone, reaching 9.8 gigabytes (GB) per month at the end of 2018. However, with 5G adoption likely to start this year, data consumption is estimated to grow manifold as the Ericsson 5G Consumer Potential study reveals that one in five smartphone users' data usage could reach more than 145 GB per month on a 5G device by 2025. Consumer trends reflected in the survey show willingness of the end consumer to switch to 5G. More than half of smartphone users in India expect their own provider to make the switch for them or say they will wait a maximum of six months before moving to another provider that does. While 5G is still some way away, LTE subscriptions have been and shall remain a dominant factor in driving monthly usage growth. As the evolution towards more advanced technologies continues in India, LTE is forecast to represent 82 per cent of mobile subscriptions by the end of 2024 compared to 38 per cent in 2018.
