The Edge service provides customers with enhanced data download rates of up to 100 kbps. |

The service will also enable users to view a host of infotainment application, including live television, play exciting multi-player mobile gaming, music & file transfer, picture download, e-mail download with attachments and access all the content on Airtel Live, an official with Airtel said. |

The company would also be providing coverage in over 10 locations in Goa and over 35 new towns in the Konkan belt, including Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts by March. |

With this, Airtel's network footprint would span over 100 towns in both Goa and Konkan belt. This is in keeping with the company's network expansion plans to cover over 440 towns in Maharashtra and Goa by March, he said. |

"With the launch of connectivity on the Konkan Railway route and on the Mumbai-Goa highway, key tourist locations such as Ganpatipule, Malwan and Ratnagiri would be get connected on our network. As of today, the network connects important state highways such as Mapsa-Panjim-Madgaon, Ponda-Madgaon and Vasco-Madgaon," he said. |

To cater to the increased traffic, Airtel has commissioned four Base Station Controllers (BSC) in Goa, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Raigad district. |

The company has also deployed its innovative network on wheels (NOW) solution at Varca to enhance network connectivity and provide on demand network coverage. |
