Bhopal-based AISECT Ltd, India’s leading Information Technology education, training and services network, launched its first skill development centre in Punjab.

Located in Gurdaspur , the AISECT Skill Development Centre will be offering various educational and training services to the people with a special emphasis on vocation training. AISECT has also flagged-off an IT Yatra wherein a mobile IT van would go to the CSC Project regions of the state to generate awareness about this project of the Central Government.

Ashwani Kumar, the minister of state for planning, parliamentary affairs, science and technology and earth sciences, inaugurated the centre and the IT Yatra.

According to AISECT director Siddharth Chaturvedi, “Punjab has always been a key focus area for us and through this centre, as well as the others that we plan to launch shortly across the state, we are endeavouring to make vocational education accessible at the grass root level. Apart from specialised IT courses, we will be offering an array of vocational courses specific to the demands of this region. Training in areas like JCB operations, diesel engine repair, electrical and technical work, etc will be available at the AISECT Centres in Punjab.”
