New Delhi-based start-up Appin Security Group, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, has set up its first research and development (R&D) facility dedicated to information security.
Established in the technology business incubator at IIT-Delhi, under the aegis of Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FIIT), the centre will provide automated solutions for penetration testing, patching and securing confidentiality and integrity of the data stored in computers and communicated over networks.
"Most organisations offer 15-20% automation in security or penetration testing processes, whereas, we have already automated the process to about 75%," Rajat Khare, director, Appin Security Group, said. "The R&D facility will provide excellent security solutions to both private as well as the government sectors. It will help them secure their organisation, information and people against data thefts, attacks and frauds," said S K Gupta, head of information security research group, IIT-Delhi.
Appin Security Group, in the past, has worked with BSNL, American Express, Infosys, Yatra.com and others to create IT security solutions. The IT security firm is also exploring partnerships with various sectors where it could be the technical back-end and the partner would be the front-end for rolling out the services. The company is in talks with net4india.com to provide services to over 75,000 websites.
