Has your iPhone gone on the fritz? Does the screen flicker or does your iPhone suddenly power down, even though it had a full battery? Recently, Apple has been facing customers' wrath due to hardware glitches in iPhones. Apple confirmed these flaws on Monday. While the smartphone giant has assured to rectify issues, users continue to grapple with one issue or the other.
Hardware malfunction (touch disease)
Lately, a hardware malfunction has been causing iPhone users, especially those using iPhone 6 Plus, a lot of trouble. The malfunction, named 'touch disease' can cause the iPhone display to start flickering or the multi-touch function stops working.
Apple has admitted to the hardware glitches saying, "some iPhone 6 Plus devices may exhibit display flickering or Multi-Touch issues after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface and then incurring further stress on the device".
To assist its customers in this regard, Apple has launched a new repair programme.
In case you are a victim of 'touch disease' this is what you must do according to Apple:

* Your iPhone will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this programme and in working order.
* Apple or an Apple authorised service provider will then repair your device at the price of Rs 9,900

Symptoms of touch disease:
Flickering screen. But this isn't it, as users have reported that after the grey bar starts flickering, the screen becomes intermittently unresponsive across the entire display.
iPhone battery power down
Recently, Apple has had to replace batteries for many iPhone 6s users. In this case, phone unexpectedly shuts down. Apple has launched a battery replacement program for this.
The smartphone giant has advised customers who might have experienced this issue to visit an Apple Retail Store or authorised service centres with their device’s serial number to confirm eligibility. Unlike the iPhone 6 Plus ‘Touch disease’ issue where Apple is charging $149, the battery replacement process is totally free of cost.
In case an iPhone has cracked display or any other defect, owner will be charged extra.
Apple is not the sole company having to deal with issues related to hardware and smartphone's battery. This year Galaxy Note 7 smartphones took a toll on the manufacturers and users due to overheating of batteries.
