Apple has announced that users are upgrading to its all-new mobile operating system - iOS 9 - faster than ever. In a statement the company said that over 50% of the devices eligible to receive the update are already running iOS 9.
"iOS 9 is also off to an amazing start, on pace to be downloaded by more users than any other software release in Apple's history," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
The announcement comes ahead of the launch of Apple's iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on September 25th across major global markets.
The company continues to remain mum on when it will launch the new iPhones in India.

Apple has a history of brisk software uptake, with half of all iOS devices running on iOS 8 within a week of its availability last year, before stalling badly in the second week. However, the same fate isn't expected of iOS 9 with Apple keeping the file download size and bugs under check.
