OfficeTiger would continue its current operations as an independent business unit of RR Donnelley in India and was expected to grow significantly, Joseph Sigelman, Co-Chief Executive Officer of OfficeTiger, told Business Standard.

RR Donnelley and OfficeTiger have signed a definite merger agreement in which RR Donnelley will acquire Office Tiger in an all-cash deal for around $250 million.

OfficeTiger is known for its judgment-dependent mission critical services and we will continue to grow in areas like accounts processing, research and analytics, legal and other document related services in India, he added.

With the signing of the agreement, BPO operations of Astron in India and Sri Lanka will come under Office Tiger India operations. Aston, a UK-based BPO supplier with resources in Europe, India and Sri Lanka was acquired by RR Donnelley in last June, he added.

Sigelman said that with Aston coming under its fold, OfficeTiger India would become a strong 6000 people company. "I believe that we are likely to be a second or third largest BPO company in India," he added.

"As part of a multi-billion institution backed by the world-class infrastructure, best practices and support services, OfficeTiger will have enhanced opportunities to realise its full potential for growth. We see the combined OfficeTiger-Astron platform in the BPO space as defining a hybrid onsite-offshore solution that covers the US as well as Europe with a local presence on the ground. We will be adding to OfficeTiger's strength in banking, publishing, legal and corporate customers, Astron's government, credit card and insurance clientele," he said in the release

In concert with Astron, OfficeTiger will enable RR Donnelley to expand its already relationships with Fortune 500 companies in both the US and Europe.
