B'lore set to host embedded tech conference

Bangalore will host a global conference on embedded technologies EMCIS 2006. Sponsored by Freescale Semiconductor India, the two-day conference will showcase semiconductors, digital consumer electronics, microwave communications, defence electronics, automotive, wireless communications and instrumentations, its organisers said here on Monday.
 
The exposition, beginning Wednesday, will also host a seminar on the latest trends in embedded technology and microwave-related subjects by eminent technology experts and industry leaders.
 
"This will provide an invaluable platform to present the latest trends in various subjects on embedded technology where technologies, designers and manufacturers meet to deliberate on the relevant issues," said George Johnson, director of Infinite Expositions, which is organising the event.
 
He said that EMCIS 2006 was the first of its kind in India and sought to showcase the expertise of the domestic industry in the international high technology arena.
 
Over 30 technology majors from across the globe are expected to participate in the event. They include Advantech Singapore, Wonway Manufacturing SDN BHD, Malaysia, Kingsly Instrumentation and National Instruments. Besides, more than 50 exhibitors both from home and abroad will showcase their products.
 
EMCIS 2006 is being co-sponsored by the Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association of India, Elcina Electronic Industries Association of India, National Research Development Corporation, Indian Micro Electronics Society, Indian Printed Circuit Association, Semiconductor Complex, Electronics Industries Association of Andhra Pradesh and Gurunanak Dev Industries, Chandigarh among others.
