Bharti group company Beetel Teletech, which is into fixed-line equipment market, is likely to launch a seven-inch tablet PC by next month.
The product would have features such as two side camera, 3G and Android 2.2 operating system, said Rahul Mahajan, head (mobile business) of Beetel Teletech addressing the media here.
“The prices of the tablets cannot be disclosed at this point. However, prices will be very competitive and offer value for money to the customers,” Mahajan said launching Beetel’s two new mobile handsets — GD 310 and GD 218, here.
Beetel Teletech, being a late entrant in the Indian mobile handset market, aims to be among the top three players in this segment by 2013.
The Indian handset market is 132 million per year, and Indian brands account for a third of it. Their sale is increasing at a CAGR of 40 per cent compared with the overall market growth of 16 per cent.
Beetel Teletech has plans to launch two new advanced mobile devices every month. Currently, it sells 150,000 handsets every month.

“We will build a strong distribution network. The company will launch four more models, including high-end, touchscreen and Android-enabled handsets, by September,” he added.
GD 310 and GD 218, with features like dual SIM, FM radio and one-touch torch light , are priced at Rs 1,799 and Rs 1,499 respectively.
