Bhilwara Scribe buys two BPOs

Move to strengthen firm's presence in medical transcription.

Bhilwara Scribe, the IT arm of the Rs 3,000-crore LNJ Bhilwara Group, has acquired two BPOs in the healthcare segment. The details of the transactions were not disclosed.

Bhilwara Scribe is into medical transcription and data management services for clients in the US, Canada and Belgium. It has acquired the US-based Benson Transcription Technologies Inc and Bangalore-based Global Meditrans Private Ltd, according to official sources in LNJ Bhilwara Group.

"The two acquisitions will further strengthen the presence of Bhilwara Scribe in the medical transcription segment in India as well as the US," sources added.

Benson Transcription, with 50 US-based employees, has a turnover of approximately $2 million with another $2 million revenue to be added with the work in the pipeline.

"This acquisition will help Bhilwara Scribe tap the huge healthcare BPO market in the US. It will also create a strong front-end for Bhilwara Scribe in the US," they stated.

In order to complement the acquisition in the US and cater to the increased work, Bhilwara Scribe has acquired the Bangalore-based medical transcription outfit Global Meditrans Pvt Ltd.

Global Meditrans is a 200-seat healthcare BPO and has been providing services to the US and Canada for the last seven years.

With this acquisition, Bhilwara Scribe has managed a foothold in Bangalore. "Now Bhilwara Scribe covers north, central and south India with centres in Noida, Bhopal and Bangalore, apart from the US. This gives Bhilwara Scribe a good geographical and logistical advantage," the sources pointed out.

On completion of the two acquisitions, Bhilwara Scribe's combined headcount in India and the US will be 600 people.

With the above acquisitions, Bhilwara Scribe's growth will increase 100 per cent to close this fiscal with revenue of Rs 15 crore, company officials claimed.

According to company officials, the company is planning capacity expansion to 1,000 seats. The first healthcare BPO in Bhopal, it presently operates two centres at Noida and Bhopal with 300 seats.
