Ahmedabad-based business and technology consulting company Bitscape IT Solutions plans to tap the government sector in Gujarat through its customised and total solutions to integrate various departments.

It also plans to enter the sector in the United States under the Minority Owned Business Quota.

Presently, under 10 per cent of the company's revenues come from the government vertical but with more and more departments adopting IT solutions, Bitscape expects revenues from the vertical to grow by 50 per cent by 2008.

The company has installed IT solutions for twenty-six Gujarat government departments including Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB) and Gujarat Science City.

Even as it consolidates its presence in this, the company is trying to leverage its profits in the high tech manufacturing and manufacturing verticals by expanding its international presence.

Bitscape recently established its presence in the Silicon Valley through a wholly-owned subsidiary, in the UK through a liaison office and in Australia through a partnership with a company.

The company will soon offer GIS solutions as well. It has just set up a Geographic Information System (GIS) unit in Ahmedabad.

"With sectors like Oil and Gas and construction requiring services of GIS mapping, we expect the vertical to bring high growth," Bitscape Director (Business Development) Kartik Shah, said.

He added that the company would hive off the GIS business into a separate entity by 2009 to allow it to achieve independent growth.
