BSNL Andhra Pradesh circle has so far received 100,000 port-in requests since the mobile number portability service was launched in February this year. “There had been 74,000 actual migrations into BSNL and 24,000 ported out,” Rajeev Agarwal, chief general manager, BSNL (AP circle), told reporters today.
Agarwal said this makes BSNL the largest net gainer among all operators in the state and also among other circles of BSNL.
The second leading operator in MNP had only about 25 per cent of its figure, he said. In addition, it is also the fastest growing operator in the state in terms of new mobile connections, he said attributing the performance to the efforts of the company staff and franchisees.
The public sector operator has around 7 million mobile subscribers in the state, according to latest TRAI data. It has 154,000 subscribers for its 3G service, and 450,000 broadband users, Agarwal said.
The company launched a new 3G tariff plan Vennela Match, offering video calls at 70p per minute for local calls to any operator and Re 1 per minute for STD calls. The data usage charges are 2p per 10 kb and video streaming charges at 1p per 40 kb.
