State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) today said it is in talks with new telecom operators, including Unitech, for sharing its infrastructure with them and a separate division will be created within the firm to oversee its infrastructure sharing business.
"We are holding talks with several new telecom operators like Unitech for sharing our huge infrastructure including mobile towers etc with them... And it will result in extra revenue to the company," BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Kuldeep Goyal told reporters here.
Stating that a separate division would be carved out for the infrastructure sharing business, Goyal hoped that the talks with operators would get materialised with telecom licence holders by September this year that would give additional revenue of Rs 100 crore to BSNL.
On restructuring of BSNL, Goyal said that the whole process of re-hauling of the company is expected to be completed in this year.
"We have already completed the restructuring of the board at the central level. At present, the reorganisation of our state level offices is underway which would soon be completed," he said.
