Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is planning to set up a tower operations centre (TOC) to enable the public sector undertaking to manage 10,000 towers across the country.

“We will be calling for expressions of interest for the TOC in a week,” said Kuldeep Goyal, CMD.

The company, which owns 42,000 towers, has already signed master sharing agreements (MSAs) for sharing its towers with Tata Teleservices, Aircel and Videocon’s Datacom, and is on the verge of signing similar MSAs with other major operators in the country, Goyal told mediapersons here on Thursday.

“The MSAs involve sharing 3,000-4,000 towers of BSNL with each operator, which will bring in lease rents of Rs 30,000 per tower.
