Recently, Skullcandy launched its women's line of headphones in India. No, you guessed it wrong. These are not headphones in mere flashy shades of pink.

According to Skullcandy, various studies point out that women's hearing is much more sensitive at higher frequencies and more vulnerable to harsh noises than men. So, let's find out how good the company has fared in giving that extra musical experience to women.

I opted for an overhead model of the headphones. Despite being a fan of in-earbud ones, I was surprised by the amazingly light and comfortable design of the overhead ones. Women like things that easily fit in their handbags without occupying too much space. Skullcandy has easily captured this aspect. The headphones are foldable and carrying them around is not too much of a worry. The overhead band of the headphones is thinner compared to others in market, and the metallic finish adds to its designer looks.

Adding to the level of comfort, Skullcandy has kept a single detachable jack. The cushioned earpads add to the ease, though after two hours, my ear lobes started aching.

The headphones offered good treble and, hence, a smooth soundstage. The bass lacked in clarity with an average impact. The midrange was the most impressive aspect and improved with each song.

Skullcandy headphones worked great even while on the Delhi metro or out there in the never-ending traffic. The headphones come in three different styles - over-ear Knockout, in-ear Fix Bombshell and in-earbud Dime. All the three styles come in various colours. Prices vary from Rs 2,299 to Rs 6,999 depending on the style.

To all the female folks out there, the Skullcandy women series headphones assure you a different musical treat and will definitely add to your style statement.
