The iPod. I literally strap this on my arm and use it constantly when travelling and at the gym.

That would be an in-car stereo remote control. Just reach across and change it, for god's sake!
What's the first thing you notice about a gadget?
Its appearance and texture. If it looks cool and well thought-out, it is likely to catch my attention. Alas, I am that shallow.
What's the one gadget that you love to gift?
Anything stereo-related. I understand these gizmos the best and rest assured that they will be used and appreciated.
What is one of the first gadgets you bought?
The Casio analog watch, the one in which all the numbers fit into an eight. It was sci-fi time in the early '80s and these things made you feel modern and cool.
What specific gadget was a terrible buy?
My last Nokia. It had too many features and kept crashing. I don't want to make independent movies on my phone, nor do I need the capability to link up my phone to my fridge, my car, my et cetera, et cetera. Just please don't take four minutes to open a simple "I'll c u there" sms.
Is there a gadget you still haven't been able to figure out?
The M-Audio studio soundcard. I bought this for my recording studio "" all the software, bells and whistles are enough to get a satellite into orbit. There are those who understand it all and can use it. My job is just to be friends with these people.
Tell us about a gizmo you lost and still feel bad about losing.
The same Casio analog watch "" since then it's all become blase. It was heart-wrenching when it was lost primarily because it meant that someone travelling abroad would need to get me a replacement and that did not happen all that often. Now that gizmos are constantly updated and available, I (like the rest of consumer-driven society) have no loyalty.
Is there a gizmo you are embarrassed to still own?
The VCR. It's chunky and you can skip chapters but I still have a bunch of VHS tapes that were painstakingly collected.
