Cellebrum Technologies Limited, the flagship company of Spice Televentures Limited, will invest Rs 10 crore in expansion this financial year, which includes a new competency centre in Bangalore next month, said chief executive officer Saket Aggarwal.
The company, which creates content for mobile service providers, has competency centres at Parwanoo (near Chandigarh), Noida and in Singapore.
The Bangalore centre will initially have 36 employees, which would be ramped up to 50 by the year-end.
Stating that rural areas were big drivers of growth and contributed 50-60 per cent to the business, Aggarwal said the impact of downturn on business was marginalised by the new subscriber base in hinterland. “About 10 million new subscribers are added every month by mobile operators. So we get our pie.”
Cellebrum recently tied up with Speed OXL films for Gurdaas Maan’s recent release and has acquired the worldwide mobile rights for the content of the Punjabi blockbuster Mini Punjab.
Meanwhile, the company has deferred its IPO due to the unpredictable capital market condition, he said.
