Cendura, an application management solutions company, is betting big on the global compliance solutions market and is planning to double its size in Hyderabad and in the US in the next 12 months.

Cendura employs around 100 people globally with approximately equal number of people at both the ends.

Speaking to Business Standard, Pavan Nigam, chairman and chief executive officer, Cendura Corporation, said, "Companies are required to comply with a certain set of standards like (Sarbanes-Oxley) SOX when it comes to, for instance, accounting standards and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) with regard to healthcare services. The Cohesion suite of software puts the rules in place and informs the clients when and where they are going wrong. We are, therefore, betting big on this market."

Cohesion suite helps the IT departments in various companies maintain complex applications as it has a centralised platform for change, compliance and configuration.

"Today, global data centres do not have the right tools in place. They are being run on tribal knowledge that is sitting in the heads of the people operating it. Many times, one application is run by 50 different systems. So any procedural glitch becomes difficult to identify and rectify. With Cohesion suite, therefore, a company knows which applications run in which systems, rules are set, errors are caught and guesswork is avoided with regard to reasons for failure of any application," Nigam added.

The company will be soon coming out with Cohesion 4.0, the new version of its configuration management suite that addresses additional elements like ERP and networking. Cendura's existing clients include Amica, HSBC, General Motors, Quintiles and Verisign.

The Hyderabad development centre contributes to two-thirds of the company's development work and most of its customers are based out of the US.

"Early next year, we are planning to tap the Indian market with our solutions and large telecom companies are likely to be our prospective clients," Nigam said.
