Supergiga Computer Systems (SCS), a Chennai-based IT product company has announced the launch of 'Info Touch', a platform that would provide various types of online services to the businesses and common people.

The platform which is also called 'world at finger tip' would provide services like trading, marketing, electronic bill payment and tax payment among others, the company informed.

D S Sivakumaraha, CEO, SCS told reporters that in the first phase, the company had plans to open around 40 touch screen kiosks in Bangalore city as a part of the programme.

"As we move forward, we will be implementing the project in Pune and Hyderabad and subsequently in all major cities across the country," Sivakumaraha added.

He said in the Info Touch platform, SCS is using the wi-fi wireless network using licensed frequency band to avoid interferences. A networking team of 100 engineers would be supporting the network, which would be monitored from company's network operating centre round the clock, he added.

"We are using licensed frequency band of 5.8 Ghz which ensures minimum interference in the frequency band and maximum efficiency of the network," Sivakumaraha said.

He said already some 400 businesses in Bangalore including some hotels and healthcare centres had shown interest to use the platform.

For mobile users, the company would provide a username and password. Whenever the mobile users enter to SCS' wi-fi zone, the server will assign an internet protocol (IP) automatically. Once the user login to the network, the request will be sent to the authentication server and he can have access to the network.

Shivakumaraha said, the Info Touch network had capability to create employment opportunities for over 10,000 people, once it was implemented in all other metros in the country.

"Already, we have around 800 people working in our Bangalore R & D facility and network operating centre. We will be in need with many networking engineers, once the project is implemented in the city," he pointed out.
