As part of its expansion plan, Mumbai-based non-voice business process outsourcing (BPO) service provider Datamatics Technologies Ltd (DTL), is planning to open its BPO unit in Nashik with 500 employees, in the next one or two months.

DTL's proposed BPO Centre, in Mumbai Naka area, will be spread over 40,000 sq ft. The company will expand its Knowledge Associates model in Nashik and recruit 500 people. The Knowledge Associates model is devised for people who cannot commit themselves to full-time employment, according to sources.

Datamatics Technologies Ltd is a major provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) and knowledge processing outsourcing solutions.

The company specialises in accounting, claims, payroll, tax services, legal BPO, content management, abstracting & indexing, document & workflow management, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions.

Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Mumbai with offices across the world, the company delivers reliable services to a host of international clients, including six of the top 25 Fortune 500 companies.

The DTL business approach employs a dual emphasis on skill, denoting a technical and managerial competency, and scale, which reflects the ability to create a high volume world class processing capability.

The company is striving to provide business solutions, simplify processes, and ultimately deliver cost advantages and added value to each of its clients, the company sources said.

Today, Nashik has become the cynosure of all IT & BPO companies after the industry in both Mumbai and Pune have reached the saturation level.

DTL will be the third major BPO company after WNS Global Services and Tricom India, for setting up their base at Nashik.
